The trio Voces Intimae (Riccardo Cecchetti – piano, Luigi de Filippi – violin, Sandro Meo – violoncello) has appeared in such halls as the Wigmore Hall and St. John’s Smith Square in London, Library of Congress of Washington D.C., Frick Collection of New York, Da Camera Society of Los Angeles, Oberlin College of Oberlin (Ohio), the Oude Muziek Festival in The Netherlands, the Vredenburg in Utrecht, deSingel in Antwerp, the Festival Classique in The Hague, the Festival Europalia-Italia in Belgium, Festival dei due Mondi of Spoleto, Amici della Musica of Florence, Unione Musicale of Turin, Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti of Rome, Bologna Festival, Amici della Musica of Perugia. The trio has given concerts for the Presidents of the Italian Republic G. Napolitano and C.A. Ciampi, at the Quirinale residence in Rome. They have appeared at BBC-Radio 3 e RAI-Radio 3. For special events Voces Intimae appears as an ensemble, as for the collaboration with the Rome Opera House in the creation of new ballet productions.
Voces Intimae records for Challenge Classics. The first release was the premiere worldwide recording on period instruments of the Robert Schumann Piano Trios op. 63 & 110. It was awarded as “Period Instrument Choice” by BBC-Radio 3 and “CD of the Month” by Suonare News. The trio’s previous recording of the complete edition of the trios of J.N. Hummel on Warner Classics, again on period instruments, was awarded “Critics CD of the Year 2006” and “CD of the Week” by BBC Radio 3’s CD Review, “Choice of the Month” by BBC Music Magazine and “Cdécisif” by the Radio Suisse Romande. Voces Intimae has also recorded the trios of Franz Schubert and Felix Mendelssohn Bartoldy, as well as a selection of a rare repertoire of 19th century Fantasias based on the operas of Vincenzo Bellini, all on period instruments.
The aim of the trio is to restore the music to the purity of its original form, and to realise the true intentions of the composer in their production of tone and phrasing. Thus, they hope to bring the authentic historical context back to life in their performance of the music. The name Voces Intimae was chosen to convey the trio’s sensitivity to the subtleties of the repertoire, preferring, for instance, to highlight the delicate suggestion of a horse’s trotting gait in the rhythm of a passage of music, rather than thoughtlessly articulating it in a manner recalling the sound of a round of artillery. In this way, the group allows the subtle complexities, the delicate and ever-shifting shades of colour, and the streaks of melancholy running through the music to shine through, all aspects which were often neglected during the 20th century.

Riccardo Cecchetti, pianist and forte-pianist, is the founding member of various chamber music groups including the Trio Voces Intimae, which has played all over the world. After graduating cum laude from the Florence Conservatory, he began an intense concert career where he performed regularly in the most important concert halls worldwide – the Library of Congress in Washington D.C., the Carnegie Hall and Frick Collection in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall and St. John’s Smith Square in London, the Musik Halle in Hamburg, the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Vredenburg in Utrecht, Shenzhen Concert Hall in Shenzhen, Tianjin Concert Hall in Tianjin only to name a few, to which are added prestigious Festivals and Associations such as the Festival van Vlaanderen – B, Oude Muziek Festival – NL, Da Camera Society in Los Angeles, Oberlin College Oberlin – Ohio, the Festival dei due Mondi – Spoleto, Italy, the Festival in Granada, Spain, the Festival in Melbourne, Amici della Musica in Florence, Unione Musicale of Turin and the Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti in Rome.

Riccardo Cecchetti plays both period and modern pianos, placing particular emphasis on chamber and solo classical and early romantic repertoire played on period instruments. His repertoire ranges from 18th century music to contemporary music.
He has an exclusive recording contract with Challenge Records. His recording of the R. Schumann Piano Trios op.63 & 110 on period instruments was awarded as Period Instruments Choice by BBC Radio3 and CD del mese by Suonare news – A. Foletto. Warner Classics published two CDs dedicated to the seven trios of J.N. Hummel that have been awarded as the Critics CD of the year 2006 and CD of the week by BBC Radio3, Choice of the Month by BBC Music Magazine and Cdécisif by the Radio Suisse Romande. He also recorded four CDs for the Italian recording company Symphonia, all on period instruments, as well as two recordings for the Spanish label Verso.
He teaches chamber music and forte-piano at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole and holds piano, fortepiano and chamber music master classes in Italy, Spain and the USA.

A violinist and conductor, Luigi De Filippi has studied violin, piano and composition, showing an early interest in jazz and contemporary music. He subsequently appeared as concertmaster in such orchestras as the Rome Opera House, La Fenice Theatre in Venice, the London Mozart Players, the Flanders Orchestra in Antwerp. In London he made his debut as conductor with the London Mozart Players, and he appeared as soloist – conductor at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Royal Festival Hall and the Barbican Centre in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Palau de la Musica in Barcelona. In 2007 he soloed in the Auckland Festival (New Zealand). He has conducted Antonio Salieri’s opera “Prima la musica, poi le parole” at the Minoritenkirche in Vienna, the very church for which Salieri wrote all his sacred music. Luigi De Filippi is the violinist of the Voces Intimae piano trio, a leading ensemble which has performed extensively throughout Europe, has toured the USA and China and is among the official cultural testimonials of the Italian Republic. Voces Intimae records for Challenge Classics: a complete issue of the Schumann trios is now available, the first Cd having appeared in 2011 (winner of the “Period instrument choice” by BBC Radio 3 and “Cd of the month” by the Italian magazine “Suonare”), and the second having been released in 2015. In 2013 Challenge released the piano trios of Théodore Gouvy. Voces Intimae has also recorded three Cds for the label Symphonia: the trios of Schubert and Mendelssohn, and a selection of Fantasias based on Vincenzo Bellini’s operas; in 2004 Warner Classics issued a double CD of the complete trios of Johann Nepomuk Hummel, which was elected “CD of the year” for 2006 by BBC Radio 3.
De Filippi is the music director of the Da Ponte Ensemble: with the DPE he has recorded Giacinto Cornachioli’s La Diana Schernita of 1629, for the label Bongiovanni. In 2012 a Cd of rare pieces of Ruggero Leoncavallo, Brise de mer, and in 2013 a selection of violin and orchestra Fantasias titled Il Violino & l’Opera – Hommage à Verdi, have been released by the label Mediterranea Classica. Luigi has taken part in the first ever recording of music of the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, for the label Edipan; For Warner – Fonit he has recorded some orchestral music by Francesco Saverio Mercadante; for Gold & Lebet Delphin Alard’s violin Fantasias based on five Giuseppe Verdi operas. In 2012 Luigi has started a collaboration with Challenge Classics as soloist: the first issue featured a selection of Giuseppe Tartini sonatas for solo violin, followed in November 2015 by a Cd of the splendid Fantasias for unaccompanied violin by Georg Philipp Telemann.

Sandro Meo has an intense concert career as well as international cello and chamber music professor. He was the founder and principal cello of Philharmonia Mediterranea Orchestra, with which he faced the main lyrical-symphonic repertoire as well as the solos one.
He regularly perform worldwide, giving concerts in the most prestigious world’s concert halls such as Carnegie Hall and Frick Collection in New York, Library of Congress in Washington, Wigmore Hall and St. John’s Smith Square in London, Musikhalle in Hamburg, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Curtis Institute in Philhadelphia, Da Camera Society in Los Angeles, Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto and Melbourne, Oberlin College (Ohio), Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, Vredenburg in Utrecht, deSingel in Antwerp, Festival Classique in The Hague, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Amici della Musica in Florence, Festival Le Notti bianche in Saint Petersburg, Unione Musicale in Turin, Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti in Rome, Bologna Festival, Pergolesi Spontini Festival in Jesi etc.
Sandro Meo appeared in several television and radio world brodcasts. His recording activity ranges from the classical experience on period instruments, to the symphonic, operatic and solo repertoires till the contemporary music.
He recorded a world premiere CD of the F. Saverio Mercadante Fantasia sulla Lucia di Lammermour, published by Warner-Fonit.
As a member of the Italian Piano Quartet Sandro recorded the complete edition on the J. Brahms piano quartets published by the Italian label Symphonia.
He is one of the founders of Voces Intimae: their CDs are award-winnings. They recorded works of the main chamber repertoire such as J.N. Hummel, F. Schubert, F. Mendelsshon-Bartholdy and R. Schumann. They recorded in Bologna, Pisa, Berlin and Leipzig, and published by Symphonia, Pan Classics, Warner Classics e Challenge Classics. Those CDs have been awarded Critics CD of the year 2006 and CD of the week by BBC, Choice of the Month by BBC Music Magazine and Cdécisif by Radio Suisse Romande. At the moment he records for Challenge Classics label.
He gives master classes in Italy, Spain and USA and he has been member in important national and international competition juries.
He is the Regional Delegate of the Progetto di Orchestre Infantili e Giovanili promoted by C. Abbado and J. Abreu. From 1986 he teaches cello at the Cosenza Conservatory of Music.
